Clinical Testing



Clinical Testing is an integral part of determining and maintaining public health. The following clinical tests are accepted at Imperial County Public Health Laboratory:

  • AFB (tuberculosis) culture, identification, susceptibilities

  • Blood lead levels (screening)

  • Chlamydia and Gonorrhea by DNA probe

  • HIV ? Serum and Oral Fluid, Viral Loads

  • Syphilis screening and confirmation tests (VDRL, RPR and FTA-ABS)

  • Quantiferon (TB screening) blood test

  • West Nile Virus by IFA

  • Enterics Testing for Foodborne Illness

  • Salmonella / Shigella / E. coli H7:O157 Serotyping

  • Respiratory Virus Culture and Identification (seasonal)

  • Urinalysis dipstick

  • Urine pregnancy
