The role of the Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) is to protect the community from disease, illness and injury and to improve the overall health status of residents by preventing illness, disability, premature death, and promoting good health practices. The Imperial County Public Health Department is a county government agency overseen by the Imperial County Board of Supervisors. It provides separate services and programs and is physically separated from Social Services and Behavioral Health. The Public Health Department serves all the residents of Imperial County and works closely with local hospitals, community clinics and medical providers to share timely, up to date public health information with partner agencies.
The Imperial County Public Health Department is divided into four divisions, which include the following:
1) Administration,
2) Community Health
3) Health and Support Services
4) Environmental Health Services

ADMINISTRATION:
The Office of the Director and Deputy Directors; Public Health Officer; Medical Director; Program Planning and Evaluation; Public Information; Fiscal.
COMMUNITY HEALTH:
Health Promotion; Epidemiology, Emergency Medical Services / Bioterrorism Preparedness; Maternal Child and Adolescent Health(MCAH); Animal Control
HEALTH AND SUPPORT SERVICES:
Public Health Laboratory; Clinical Services; Health Information Management / Birth and Death Certificates; Fiscal
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SERVICES:
Environmental Consumer Protection; Environmental Health Services; Vector Control
