Please note the Imperial County Public Health Department will be open for appointments only. Department staff will be available to provide assistance by phone to members of the community who have questions related to any of the Department’s essential services.

Phone assistance will be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The office will be closed for lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. This shall remain in effect until further notice.

EMT - Certification

Process for Initial EMT Certification

  1. Review Policy #2100 for EMT Certification
  2. Call (442) 265-1444 to schedule an appointment for EMT Certification
  3. Bring to your appointment the following:

  • Completed EMT Application Form (may be completed at time of appointment)
  • Current National Registry EMT-Basic Certification
  • Proof of ID (CA Drivers License, CA Identification Card, Military ID, Passport)
  • Pay established fee.

A fee of $85.00 for initial certification is due to Imperial County Public Health Department. This includes $75.00 certification fee to EMS Authority, and a $10.00 already established process fee for Imperial County EMS Agency. Do not mail cash. Please make checks payable to: Imperial County Public Health Department.
