Imperial County Homeless Taskforce

The Regional Task Force on Homelessness of Imperial County is a local group that is the body that oversees the needs and services for the homeless population of Imperial County. Task Force members are part of the local Continuum of Care (CoC) in Imperial County .

One the activities coordinated by members of the Task Force is the coordination of the annual Project Homeless Connect and where local service agencies are invited to provide an array of services at one location. Those include haircuts, showers, eye exams, inoculations, clothing, hot meal, and many more. It occurs in early December to coincide with the Annual Stand down throughout America.

Members of the Task force coordinate the Point in time count. Volunteers are recruited to avoid duplication and are trained on how to track the data collected. The PIT count is accomplished each year in cooperation with the various law enforcement agencies.

The Task Force meets on the second Thursday of the month at 8:30am. The meeting dates for the rest of 2013 are November 14th, and December 12th. The schedule for 2014 will be released shortly. Meetings are held at 250 W. Orange Avenue, El Centro, California, unless otherwise informed.
