The Imperial County Public Health Department’s Tuberculosis Program hosted a Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) Treatment Medical Update for more than thirty local healthcare providers on Tuesday, March 26th at the Fairfield Inn in El Centro. The main speaker at the event was Neha Shah, MD, MPH, Division of Tuberculosis Elimination Field Medical Officer, California Department of Public Health The purpose of the event was to discuss LTBI treatment options, QuantiFERON®-TB testing and launch a collaborative effort to treat LTBI in the local community in order to improve treatment adherence and reduce the number of active TB cases in Imperial County.
