Testing at Commercial Laboratories

Commercial testing for monkeypox is now available through:

• Quest Diagnostics
• LabCorp
• ARUP
• Mayo Clinic Laboratories
• Aegis Science
• Sonic Healthcare

Action Requested

1. Consider a diagnosis of monkeypox in people who present with an unusual or characteristic rash and who in the month preceding illness:

2. Reports having contact with a person or people with a similar appearing rash or who received a diagnosis of confirmed or probable monkeypox or

3. Had close or intimate in-person contact with individuals in a social network experiencing monkeypox activity, this includes men who have sex with men (MSM) who meet partners through an online website, digital application (“app”), or social event (e.g., a bar or party) or

4. Traveled outside the US to a country with confirmed cases of monkeypox or where monkeypox virus is endemic

5.  Report suspected cases of monkeypox to Epidemiology within one working day by calling (442) 265-1464 during regular work hours (8am to 5pm , Monday through Friday) or send email to phepireport@co.imperial.ca.us

6. Fax patient information to (442) 265-1477

7. Collect Specimens

8. Instruct suspected cases to isolate until they receive their test results
