Breastfeeding Coalition

The Imperial County Breastfeeding Coalition was established in 1999. The Coalition is committed to providing current breastfeeding information and support to breastfeeding families in Imperial County. This is accomplished in part by educating and supporting professionals, businesses, and community members, as well as encouraging the most up-to-date breastfeeding practices in our agencies. Our activities have been made possible through grant funding from Imperial County Children and Families First Commission.

The Imperial County Breastfeeding Coalition is a member of the California Breastfeeding Coalition. It is a coalition comprised of several interested agencies and individuals of Imperial County as follows: El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC), Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District (PMH), March of Dimes, Imperial County Public Health Department, Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo, WIC Program (Women, Infants, and Children), CAP Council (Child Abuse Prevention), La Leche League, Childhood Obesity Prevention Alliance (COPA), Immunization Coalition, local healthcare providers, breastfeeding families and community members.
