Sexual Health Community Resources
Most Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are treatable or curable. STIs that are left untreated can cause serious health issues and be spread to your sex partners, so the sooner you get treatment the better. Many STIs are curable with a single dose of antibiotics, while others may involve ongoing treatment.

Your sexual health is an important part of your overall health
Taking charge of your sexual health is simple and can help you avoid serious health issues in the future. If you’re having sex, you should establish a sexual health routine that consists of screening, testing, vaccination, and regular visits with your health care provider. Your sexual health routine will provide peace of mind while protecting you and your community.
A sexually transmitted infection (STI) is a virus, bacteria, fungus, or parasite people can get through sexual contact. Many STIs have no symptoms, so people can have an infection but not know it. That is why getting tested is important if you are having sex.
There are dozens of STIs. Some STIs, such as syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, are spread mainly by sexual contact. Other diseases, including Zika, Ebola, and Mpox, can be spread sexually but are more often spread through ways other than sex.
STIs are preventable. If you have sex, know how to protect yourself and your sex partner(s) from STIs.
